Dervish Toys and Amazon.com Join Forces
Small company joins larger's beta program


After a year of talks, Dervish Toys launched its flagship product- the Faery Folk® collectible dolls and story booklets- on Amazon.com. This relationship was made possible by the creation of Amazon.com's newest business solutions service- "Fulfillment by Amazon."

"Fulfillment by Amazon" or "FBA" gives small and medium-sized businesses access to Amazon's order fulfillment, customer service, customer shipping offers, and underlying website technology to improve the experience they offer their customers.

Dervish Toys agreed to work with "Fulfillment by Amazon" as a "beta client" to test the new service for the toy category. This required an integration between several internal departments and services at Amazon.com, including storage, inventory control, pick & pack, shipping and customer service.

"We are excited about the possibilities of Fulfillment by Amazon for our children's product line 'The Faery Folk dolls.' For small manufacturers of unique products like us, one of the greatest challenges is getting the product to the consumer in a cost-effective manner," said Charles Erdman, co-founder and president of Dervish Media and Dervish Toys.

"The overhead costs of pick-and-pack for one-off orders drains time and resources away from the important tasks of marketing and business development. Fulfillment by Amazon alleviates this issue by acting as the small business owner's fulfillment house at an acceptable price point."

Although, the system is still being fine-tuned, it has now launched and is driving sales of the Faery Folk collectible dolls for this '06 holiday season.
