Ipomea's name (pronounced; epo-may-a) means "morning glory". Her mother named her this because as a child she would cheerfully greet each day with a glorious song.
Ipomea's ancestors come from the continent of Africa. She is from a long line of beautiful African faeries who were all blessed with the gift of song. Faeries are particularly fond of music and Ipomea is considered by all the Faery Folk to have the most lovely voice in the Forgotten Forest.
